Conference Dinner

Wednesday 27th June

Ready for more networking, or all networked out?

Whatever your state of mind,we’d love you to join us for dinner at Murrays on Wednesday 27 June. Delicious food and fine wines will be served in this fabulous new centre adjacent to the Sanger Institute. Chill out on the deck, or try your luck at the roulette tables – but do come along and join in the fun.

Drinks Reception and Tours Thursday 28th June

Don’t rush away after the conference on Thursday evening…we’ve organised two tours with a difference. First up… a tour of the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. The Sanger Institute made the largest single contribution to the Human Genome Project, and is now using studies of natural and experimental genomic variation to tackle human disease.

This tour is free of charge and can be booked via your partnering agenda planning page.

In the tour you will visit the scientific campus, including the extension, opened in 2005. The Sanger Institute is one of the UK's largest providers of genomic information and the tour will take in the sequencing centre, which generates some 70-80M bases of DNA per day. Also included will be the data centre, which handles some 12M hits each week.

For our visitors from out of town* we’ve organised a Cambridge tour both by river and on foot; relax on one of Cambridge’s world-famous punts, then stroll past the famous buildings in the company of a Cambridge tourist guide.  Special reference will be made to the scientific heritage of Cambridge.

To book the Cambridge tour email conference@erbi.co.uk (additional charge £20+VAT).

Fancy a pint of traditional English ale after all that culture? Finish the tour at The Eagle pub for some traditional English “pub-grub”, the historic inn where in 1953 Francis Crick and Jim Watson announced that they had discovered ‘the secret of life’.

"The discussion format of the presentation sessions at "ERBI" are unique and worked very well, and the conference's friendly and informal atmosphere created the perfect environment for networking." Robert Schwartz, Senior Director,Oncology Licensing - Bristol-Myers Squibb,USA
